Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas mark 4
Lightly grease two baking trays. Place butter, sugar and syrup in a large saucepan and dissolve over a low heat. Meanwhile mix together the oats, coconut, flour and baking powder. When the butter has melted completely, stir in the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Remove the pan from the heat. Take teaspoons of mixture and roll them into balls with your hands. Flatten them slightly and place them 2 inches apart on the baking tray. Bake for 10-15 minutes, until golden brown. Cool slightly and lift them off very carefully and place them on a wire rack where they will crisp as they cool.
