Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas mark 4

Sift the flour and salt. Mix in the oats and sugar. Rub in the butter thoroughly and make a firm dough. Break off pieces the size a walnut and roll them in your hands. Place them on a greased baking tray and flatten slightly. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until turning brown.
