Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/gas mark 4
Use a deep 15cm/6 inch cake tin.
Grease and line the cake tin. Sift the flour and spices into a mixing bowl, and rub in the butter until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Stir in the fruit and sugar. Mix the sour cream and milk together, and add to the mixture. Beat thoroughly. Place in the prepared tin and bake for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hrs. Leave in the tin for ten minutes, then turn onto wire rack to cool completely.
