Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas mark 4
Cream together the butter, sugar and margarine. Add the vanilla and stir. Sift together the flour and soda. Add to the creamed ingredients.
Drop by teaspoonsfull onto well greased cookie sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 40 cookies.
