Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas mark 4
Combine the bran and orange juice; set aside. In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar together. Add the sour cream and beat until light. Blend in the golden syrup/corn syrup, vanilla and bran-orange mixture. Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix in the orange rind/zest, , dried milk, oatmeal, nuts and raisins. Stir into the creamed mixture.
Drop by level tablespoon onto greased cookie sheets about 2 inches apart. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Not a bad breakfast!
